Jay Thomas has been playing the piano since the early age of 6.  He grew up playing in his local church and became a skillful pianist/keyboardist and organist early in his life.  By the age of 18, he had developed his own predominant style of music which was a fine blend of Gospel and Jazz.  Jay continued to develop his musical abilities and pursued proficiency in other styles of music.  Today, he can play most any style of music.

Jay is also an accomplished music producer and arranger.  In addition to producing his own solo CD project entitled, "Refreshing", he has produced for many other artists as well.  Jay has performed at such venues as The Bite of Seattle, Folk Life Festival, King 5 Winter Fest, the Puyallup Fair and the Washington State Historical Museum.  He has also played for such national artists as "Witness" and Bebe Winans and has opened for such acts as Commissioned and Yolonda Adams.  He has also served as the Music Director for the World Vision Praise Team

Jay penned the title song for the Washington State Mass Choir CD entitled "Solid Rock" in the early 1990s.  In addition to his musical contributions to the Christian community, he has also played before such national figures as the Rev. Jesse Jackson and has performed on Trinity Broadcast Network Television and Zargate Family Television.

One of Jay's most notable accomplishments is music production for a special promotional video for United Way.  He has also shared his musical talents with other organizations such as the Urban League.  He continues to serve as a judge for the annual Washington State Christian Talent Contest sponsored by Worthy Music Ministries and is the pianist for Tacoma Community College's Gospel Choir.
